Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship

Description

Instruction at the Los Angeles General Medical Center offers orthopaedic trauma fellows advanced training in the management of orthopaedic trauma, particularly in the treatment of patients with multiple injuries, periarticular injuries, and pelvic and acetabular trauma. The fellow works with faculty and residents in clinics and operating rooms, gaining expertise in orthopaedic trauma fundamentals, including nonoperative management, AO principles, preoperative planning and decision-making, advanced intramedullary nailing techniques and treatment of complex articular and pelvic fractures.

At Keck Hospital, the fellow will gain experience in a tertiary referral setting with exposure to the treatment of nonunions, malunions, fracture-related infection, deformity correction, and complex fractures. Fellows are expected to engage in clinical and/or basic science research and are required to have at least one publishable project completed to successfully complete the fellowship.
