Our History

Founded in 1885, the USC School of Medicine functioned primarily as a county-hospital medical school, with faculty and students working in Los Angeles County Hospital. Under the leadership of Dean Carmen A. Puliafito, MD, MBA, the Keck School of Medicine has embarked on a major transformation to achieve prominence among leading medical schools in the nation.
